To reduce contact resistance, the pins are basically silver plated, as silver will oxidize when it encounters SO2 gas in the air, directly affecting the solderability and contact resistance of the switch. Therefore, for high-quality light touch switches, the first step is to control the silver plating thickness and silver plating process of the pin substrate. The order of advantages and disadvantages of silver plating in the market is as follows:

Silver plating thickness: above 0.3um (rear silver), 0.2um (thin silver), 0.1um (white plating);

Silver plating process: pre nickel plating and silver plating on the substrate, pre copper plating and silver plating on the substrate, and direct silver plating on the substrate;

Whether the substrate is treated with protective agents after silver plating or whether the switch has dustproof and waterproof functions is crucial, otherwise even with the best silver plating treatment, the switch will still be oxidized.

2. The key factor affecting the reliability of conduction is the structure of the contact point, because the function of a light touch switch is to conduct contact between the contact point and the elastic piece. The larger the contact surface of the contact point, the better. The contact surface is determined by the structure. There are approximately three types of structures on the market, with the order of advantages and disadvantages being as follows: large bubble (crater type) "O-type contact", slotted type "2-point contact", and flat bubble type "1-point contact".

3. Life and feel: Life and feel are determined by the stroke of the light touch switch and the coordination of the spring piece. The shorter the stroke, the lighter the sound, and the longer the lifespan. The longer the stroke, and vice versa. In the case of fixed spring piece technology, the lifespan of the light touch switch is mainly determined by the stroke or sound; In addition, the key factor determining the lifespan of the shrapnel is still stamping technology. Previously, stamping technology in Japan and Taiwan was already quite popular in China. Therefore, with the improvement of technology, the requirements for imported materials should be further reduced. 4. Production process: With the availability of accessories, the final factor that affects quality is the assembly process. The assembly process depends on factors such as the management ability of the production company, employee quality awareness, and quality assurance ability. The final product quality produced by different assurance abilities is definitely different. Currently, there are manual and machine assembly methods in the market, and due to the further improvement of automation capabilities, each has its own advantages and disadvantages: machine assembly costs are low, but product quality is low, The cost of manual assembly is high, but the quality is also high.

5. Factory inspection: The method and items of factory inspection also affect the quality of the final touch switch, such as whether the appearance, feel, conductivity, resistance, and other items are spot checked or fully inspected. For example, some large factories require a scrap rate measured by PPM or zero defects, so it is necessary to set up spot checks or quality audits after setting up a full inspection in the factory inspection.
